LA vs Hate Election Day Statement
LA vs Hate is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community for all, and we believe civic engagement and exercising your right to vote is a powerful tool for this work. LA vs Hate encourages all eligible voters to head to the polls and make their voices heard. At the ballot box, we hope residents will consider voting for people and policies that strengthen our communities and protect them against hate and discrimination.
With that said, we must recognize that elections can sometimes lead to heightened divisive rhetoric, creating tension and, at times, even resulting in incidents of hate or violence.
While we await the results of this monumental election, we urge everyone to practice civility, compassion, and mutual respect. Through respectful dialogue, we can seek to understand different perspectives, embrace diversity and strengthen our shared communities. Every individual has the power to foster inclusive and respectful communities, where all identities and beliefs are respected.
During this time, it’s essential for all community members to feel safe and supported. Should you experience or witness a hate incident, know that support is available. Please report to LA vs Hate by visiting www.lavshate.org or by calling 2-1-1, where care coordinators are ready to assist.
And if you haven’t voted yet, we encourage all to do so. For more information on voting in LA County, visit https://www.lavote.gov.
When we work together against hate, we can restore civil discourse, embrace the strength of diversity, and build inclusive and equitable communities for all.
**LA vs Hate does not endorse any specific candidates or ballot measures.**
