Supporting communities targeted for hate

The LA vs Hate program provides law enforcement with another tool that they can use to support victims of hate acts. This is particularly true in the case of hate incidents where no law has been broken, but an officer wants to provide support.

Our partnership with LA County LAw Enforcement

Made possible by funding through the American Rescue Plan Act, LA vs Hate and the Countywide Criminal Justice Coordination Council have partnered since 2022 to build an outreach and awareness campaign. The campaign focuses on working with first responders to make them aware of how important their role is in getting victims of hate crimes and hate incidents to report such acts and to make them aware of the resources available through LA vs Hate.

This awareness campaign provides informational resources specially developed for law enforcement, such as an innovative video and a brochure for victims to learn more about hate crimes and hate incidents and how to access LA vs Hate supportive services.

In addition to our training video, we are happy to coordinate in-person trainings and to provide print materials to law enforcement or security agencies interested in sharing LA vs Hate information with their communities.

If you would like more information on our program, to schedule a training, or to receive print materials. Please reach out to Dana Coffman with LA vs Hate or get in touch with your hate crime coordinator.
